Director, Husky Alumni Network

Lead and manage the Association's alumni career services efforts in collaboration with the UConn Center for Career Development to utilize alumni skills and expertise in support of innovative alumni career resources and professional development initiatives.

Develops and implements comprehensive plan to engage increasing numbers of alumni in networking with each other for career support and assisting students with their career aspirations and preparation for life after graduation.

Actively recruits alumni through personal contact and broader marketing strategies to mentor students, speak to students in classrooms and on campus, provide internships to students, hire UConn students, and other opportunities for student career support and engagement.

Manages the UConn Alumni Online Networking Community the ‘UConn Alumni Career Network’ to expand the number of alumni mentors and the number of students using this resource.

Works closely with Student Affairs, Center for Career Development, and schools and colleges to coordinate efforts of alumni participation with students’ career aspirations for a seamless “One UConn” approach to alumni, ensuring consistency and ease of engagement among the alumni.

Tracks and monitors the numbers of alumni engaging in student career support initiatives across campus and online and provides data and qualitative feedback to the campus community and Alumni Association staff for continuous feedback and improvement. Utilizes central alumni database to record alumni volunteer engagement when possible.

Supports UConn’s economic development initiatives by identifying and developing strategies to engage alumni who are willing and able to support fellow alumni and student entrepreneurial ventures through mentoring, networking and/or financial support.

Serve as liaison to the UConn Advocates. A coalition of UConn alumni, faculty, staff, parents, students and friends working to promote greater state legislative support for UConn.
