University of Leeds
Upper Second Class, History and Asia Pacific Studies
Although an unusual combination, I was able to study the subjects that I am truly passionate about, history and economics - with a little bit of politics and religion thrown in too! I lived in Asia for fourteen years and have always found the region fascinating, therefore AP studies seemed the perfect choice. My specialised history subject in my final year was the Civil Rights Movement, which supported my dissertation titled, 'Insider to Outsider: Leonard Chess, WVON, and the Civil Rights Movement' - a study of a black-orientated Chicago radio station and the conflicts within the working environment for both whites and Afro-Americans.
