Jonathan Tessero's work has appeared on Broadway, Network Television, and in concert and event venues around the country. His scope of work on Super Bowl XLVII earned CBS a Sports Emmy Nod for Best Art Direction and his reimagining of Essence Fest garnered a record breaking 550,000 attendees.

18th Annual Essence Fest

In prep for the 20th Annual Essence Fest, we re-created the entire festival from the ground up. Focused around activating nearly three-quarters of a million sq ft of convention center space and 14 music stages, including the 54,000 seat mainstage, we wove the magazine's editorial focus throughout all of the event's experiences and broke records -- attracting 550,000 attendees.

SeaWorld Sea of Surprises: Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade Segment

My Broadway roots shone through when asked to Arrange and Music Direct SeaWorld's Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade Segment.

I was very lucky to make my Broadway piano debut at age 18 and spent the next decade working on many Main Stem musicals as a pianist, conductor, arranger, orchestrator, and producer. Working on the Macy's Parade however was a true highlight.

Not only did I create, direct, and/or produce things like twelve-story projection mapping installations, documentaries, a Fortune 500 ultility co's weather emergency app, a 10-acre casino's entire Christmas experience, arena-size events, a network's coverage of a Super Bowl, and a 550,000 attendee Music Festival, I wrote all the loan documents & business plan for its founders.

Super Bowl XLVII

With 8 of the 10 total broadcast environments for television's most watched event under my purview, I oversaw the creative direction of the 4-stage production compound from which CBS broadcast more than 40 hours of coverage, and CBS Radio Row, the audio-focused broadcast facility. Total: we hosted 15 different shows from 9 CBS divisions and were nominated for a Sports Emmy.
