Provided field leadership to the engineers, inspectors and contractor crews responsible for installing gas mains and service lines in NYC. Designed and supervised gas main relocation construction on New York City municipal projects. Field manager for the pressure upgrade of 7 miles of 30" transmission main from 300 to 424 psig.
Senior Field Operations Coordinator
Developed and ran a number of field operations programs to reduce operating costs and ensure compliance with mandated safety, environmental and governmental rules and regulations.
Quality Control Inspector
Performed welding inspection, welder qualifications, plastic fusion inspection and nuclear compaction testing. Performed site inspection of underground gas line construction to insure compliance with 49CFR 192, 16NYCRR 255, API 1104 and Nat Grid codes and standards.
Operations RD&D Project Coordinator
In conjunction with gas industry research partners and independent contractors developed new tools, processes and work systems that reduced field construction and maintenance costs. These included keyhole tools and vacuum technologies, the Quick-Stop low-pressure gas main emergency isolation system, the Dresser swivel valve tee, an epoxy pipe lining process and ergonomic construction tools.
Developed cost effective project designs for the gas distribution system. Ensured that new gas mains and services were installed correctly and on time. Designed and supervised the construction of gas main installations on New York State bridge reconstruction projects.
