As a Solution Architect for SunGard aligned to complex deals I am responsible for providing architectural guidance to large customers in Government and the Private Sector primarily on Managed Services. Architecting solutions based on SunGard's portfolio and also best of class technology.

I work with large global System Integrators and End Customers to define service, scope, requirements and act as trusted advisor to a number of customers. My work to date has mainly focused on the technical leadership of large complex deals with revenues in excess of £40M.

Solutions Design Engineer

European presales role with technical ownership for engagements up to £24M TCV ranging from E-Commerce platforms to global SAP migrations. Requiring a consultative selling approach, gathering desired business capabilities and translating those into technical requirements. This is achieved through an in depth understanding of customers’ businesses, their commercial realities and mapping these to opportunities for Savvis and where necessary qualifying out.

Responsible for creating compelling business cases as part of the RFP/ITT process, involving liaising with commercial offer development teams, pricing analysts, technical management, service management and sales management to build successful bids.

Management of internal delivery v-teams to support successful transition from pre-sales opportunities into live customer solutions. These cross functional teams include service management, service delivery, post sales engineering and operations.

Product mix includes colocation, MPLS/WAN, Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS) and security. The technology subsystems include Cisco Security, Networking and Unified Computing System; F5 BIG-IP load-balancing, VMware virtualisation technology, Microsoft SQL & Oracle RAC Databases; Netbackup; Imperva Web Application Firewalls and Arbor Peakflow DDoS mitigation technology.



Technical Sales Specialist (Intl Vendor)

Responsible for the delivery of £45M of business as presales technologist in the Public Sector for Central Government, Police, Fire and Public Administration. Working with partners, VARs/SIs, to develop propositions both commercial and technical across the Microsoft technology stack.

Accountable for security products and core infrastructure technologies as the subject matter expert within the division, supporting and developing technical and sales team members to better deliver key product messages.

Held the scorecard for System Center 2012 within the BU, driving customer and partner uptake through workshops, call-out days and field selling.

Provided forecasting support, and validation, for leadership team; enabling sellers to identify opportunities that had gone unnoticed.

Forefront Security Consultant

Undertook review of Microsoft Forefront deployment across virtualised estate in order to produce remediation strategy ensuring compliance and increased security in the environment.
Reviewed and enhanced Active Directory and Group Policy designs, additionally undertook a performance baseline.

e-comet Internship

Working on the new release of the Comet website and the role included QA, bug finding and providing the interaction between the commercial team and the development team.
The most significant aspect of the role was the development of business rules to increase profitability on sales; this was achieved by improving the selection and presence of extras attached to products on site.
Developed software tools and business rules that analysed product ranges, sales and stock; and allowed business decisions to be made on up sells and range requirements.
In addition developed the requirements for the ‘Gift Finder’ function on the site.
