Employability Specialist – Student Employability Team

Within my responsibilities, I am developing and implementing the Employability strategy for the School of Economics, liaising directly with the Head of School, Marketing Department and UQ Economics Society to help increase the employability skills and opportunities for the Economics students. I am also completing a similar project for Human Resources students.
Some other duties include:
Designing and implementing the BEL SET strategy for the School of Economics including gaining full consensus from senior stakeholders.
Designing and implementing new workshops for future graduates which have included SWEP and BEL SET introductions.
Designing and implementing new policies and procedures to help consolidate the work that BEL SET have achieved and to help improve the internal operations of the department.
Student consults with Economics and Human Resource students assisting with resumes, cover letters, interview preparation and job application advice.
Being involved in Employability workshops and seminars which have included gaining speakers for ‘A day in the life of’ and being involved in training certain employability skills to students.
