Equality Now

Executive Assistant to the Global Director

I started in January 2016 supporting the Global Director of Equality Now, an international women's rights non-profit. I liaise between her and the Board, staff, and major donors, giving me a top down view into non-profit management with the flexibility to explore the many avenues of advocacy. University of Chicago

B.A., Gender & Sexuality Studies, East Asian Studies

After visiting UChicago my junior year of high school, I fell in love with the ivy covered buildings, midnight Midway soccer games, and the infectious passion for intellectual inquiry. I served as President of two organizations, studied abroad in France and Senegal, and worked in the community service center. I dedicated my studies to women's issues and wrote my senior thesis on the racialized sexual stereotypes imposed on Asian American men and the implications for the women they sought to date.

Education

Seleni Institute

Metcalf Fellow

After deciding to major in Gender & Sexuality Studies, I then spent junior summer as fellow at The Seleni Institute, a nonprofit maternal and reproductive mental health clinic in Manhattan. I was able to delve into women's health at a startup, a non-profit, a health clinic, and a research foundation all in one.

alpha Kappa Delta Phi

University of Chicago Chapter President

One of the most formative college experiences was joining and then serving as President of my sorority. alpha Kappa Delta Phi is the first, largest, and only international Asian-interest sorority with over 48 chapters. It tested my strength and stamina, expanded my capacity to love and support, and taught me to be a leader.

Startup grind

I spent the first year out of college building up several different startups, learning to hit the ground running and fill in the gaps as I went.
