Adult ESL Teacher, Researcher for Hire

King County Washington

I'm a dynamic, sheltered, traveled, cultured, photographer, ESL teacher, cook, researcher. I notice bad grammar, but I'm not a stickler for using it and I don't like most commas unless I can cook them up for a snack.

Negative emotions will challenge your grit every step of the way. While it's impossible not to feel your emotions, it's completely under your power to manage them effectively and to keep yourself in a position of control. When you let your emotions overtake your ability to think clearly, it's easy to lose your resolve. Travis Bradberry

Vancouver Aquarium Marine Science Centre

There I was living in another country with a work permit and I couldn't find a job or more importantly a person who would hire me. What can a person do? I looked for volunteer opportunities in an area where there can be waiting lists to volunteer. At the aquarium, I assisted in three different areas. The Vancouver Aquarium provided an awesome experience. I miss it.

Haro Park Centre

I believe seniors have a lot to offer and aren't always happy to be segregated from the rest of society. I spent a few hours every week visiting residents and helping the staff with various scheduled events. I learned about wheelchairs, walkers and leading the blind. I would like to think that I brought comfort to those I visited.

Indian River State College

Adjunct Faculty Adult ESL Teacher

I taught High/Low Intermediate and Advanced Grammar and Writing to students from a variety of Central and South American countries in the 5 basic English language skills. I also guided and tutored students with the computer assisted language learning labs.

Soka University of America

Master of Arts, Second Language Education with a concentration in TESOL

When I studied film, I often helped some of my schoolmates with their papers and understanding American slang. Later, I decided to pursue a degree for teaching English as a second language, ESL. I focused on adult education. The program was intensive and quickly revealed a character flaw, that I had become a quitter, so I forced myself to finish the program and graduated. I focused on how to use cartoon strips, comic books and graphic novels to teach English for my thesis. My sizable thesis included lesson plans and explanations. Completing this program and earning this degree created a sense of accomplishment.

Chapman University

Master of Fine Art, Film Production

Never before or after have I ever felt so a part of something. Regardless of graduate or undergraduate we all spoke the same language. We studied sound design, editing, directing, 2D animation, cinematography and more. I took the chance to work on my student productions and shadowed a real location scout. All my skills were put to the test in my 13 minute thesis film.

University of Baltimore

Bachelor of Arts, English

I had a lot of great classes at UB. One of my teachers was the author of the first ebook and he used graphic novels to teach about narrative. I focused a lot of my energy towards writing short stories and learning as much as possible.
