Assistant Building Secretary

• Provide clerical and administrative support to the principal, vice principal and teaching staff
• Act as first point-of-contact to callers, relay messages, and transfer calls as appropriate
• Act as liaison between the community, the school and other internal and external stakeholders
• Maintain CA-60 records and discipline reporting
• Track attendance and absences for child Accounting, Official Student Count, daily attendance and truancy reporting; use reporting software and generate reports
• Register students
• Complete paperwork for fire/safety drills, discipline letters, SRSD and STD reports
• Coordinate appropriate documents for communication between schools and with the district office

• Student check-in/check-out (verifying adult identification and student emergency card)
• Adding/editing/searching for student information in student record (MIStar)
• Typing, copying, faxing, sorting, filing, mail, various clinic duties

• Repaired books when needed
• Supervised and assisted students
• Maintained office files (including logging incoming periodicals)
• Performed inventory
• Assisted students with password resets
• Added/deleted materials
• Prepared new books and periodicals for shelving
