Pro-Pet is one of the country's largest manufacturers of private label pet food, serving customers in the grocery, mass, dollar, and farm store channels. The company manufactures a full range of dry pet food, from economy to super premium to fresh meat inclusion, in a full range of bag sizes from 2 lbs to 55 lbs. The company manufactures its products at three strategically located facilities in Ohio, Kansas, and Minnesota for distribution domestically and around the world.
I oversee the purchasing of raw materials and packaging for our 3 manufacturing locations and provide analysis for stakeholders. In addition I:
Establish and maintain supply chain and purchasing policies and procedures
Provide strategic leadership by improving and developing systems that will allow the coordination the supply chain efforts across all locations and departments.
The results of these efforts is improved financial performance, increased satisfaction of employees and customers, and employee commitment by operating on the basis of mutual trust and respect and creating a culture of continuous improvement.
Identify, develop and maintain supplier network that provides goods required at competitive price, high quality and with timely delivery.
Ensure supply chain organization supports new business proposals through preparation of requests for quotes and other requirements and transmits these to suppliers and internal teams in a timely manner to support proposal needs.
Establish and maintain a supplier management process that incorporates scorecards, regular management meetings and other tools to ensure suppliers are meeting their commitments.
Develop and maintain a value-based, team-based and long-term relationship with our selected suppliers.
