Unexpected but delicious combination. And I think you can always fit more in the crust.

Planned Parenthood of Greater Washington and North Idaho

Community Health Educator

If you think your job is exciting, try being a sexuality educator for Planned Parenthood in rural communities. It was one of the most rewarding, fun, and occasionally nervous times of my life. I taught everything from puberty & maturation to contraception to teen dating violence prevention to alcohol risk reduction to policy analysis, and trained peer educators to teach a newly developed teen sex ed program to boot.

One of my biggest community advocates when by the time I left Planned Parenthood was a Mormon parent educator who had me come in to teach media literacy so parents could help their kids understand the messages thrown at them each day. I will always be proud to be part of the Planned Parenthood family, and will always enjoy wearing pink.

Northwest Born & Bred

I love travel, I'm excited to see more of our great nation, but I really do love Washington, and the state of my early youth, Alaska. I can speak southern, love grits, can do a solid New York accent, but my heart belongs to the northwest.

Children's Alliance

Government Relations Director

Lobbying for kids was a great honor, and fantastic training. Children's Alliance isn't just about early learning, children's health, and nutrition, they take on every issue from an anti-racist equity perspective. The worked changed me, and I was able to contribute to some major wins for kids in the Washington State Legislature.

Clip from MTV Choose or Lose: Obama Decoded

The full video has is almost impossible to find, but if you look at the 2:29 mark of this clip, you'll see me with a huge patriotic bow in my hair. The full version had another clip of me sharing right after the Senator spoke in Mile High Stadium. We can call this my first cable TV appearance.

I gushed about her roles, and she was nice, but when I thanked her for her work for Emily's List and Planned Parenthood she lit up. Thrill!

Mitzvah of Writing Torah

In 2014 my synagogue held a year-long celebration and had our old Torah repaired and sections rewritten. I was able to fulfill the mitzvah of writing Torah with our visiting scholar. As the Advisory of our temple youth group, this was a simple act that brought me joy.
