Oaktrees is a 38 bed nursing home for elderly people requiring 24hr nursing care. My duties included supervision of a care team consisting normally of 5 Care Assistants, ensuring all personal cares for the residents were completed to a high standard, ensuring privacy and dignity were maintained at all times. Documentation including regular updates of care plans, and involvement with other members of the multidisciplinary team, including GP's, Psychiatrists and Care managers was pertinent to the role. Effective communication skills were also required to meet with family members, which was crucial in my role due to the environment I worked in.
