Established in 2013 by the Starbucks Corporation and launched by some of its largest U.S. suppliers, the mission of LeadersUp is to bridge the divide between the untapped potential of young people and the business challenge of finding and keeping the best talent, Our unique value exists in our demand-driven model that focuses on the role of employers as the key to addressing the issue of youth unemployment.

We serve as an intermediary, linking businesses to cost effective opportunities to source diverse, agile, tech-skilled workers -who will be competitive in terms of loyalty, productivity, dependability and will ultimately improve business performance and bottom-line.

By leveraging and working with corporations that have visible supply chains across the United
States, and with Starbucks as our key partner -we have the greatest potential for scaling a national
shift in how businesses hire and retain Opportunity Youth as part of their new workforce.

Within a year of launching our impact agenda, LeadersUp has connected over 1,000 young people between the ages of 18-24 to career pathways, generating close to $50M in economic impact across three markets (Chicago, Columbus, and Los Angeles).
