"Be Bold or Italic. Never Regular."

Hi, my name is Jaya and I'm an INTJ.

I am independent, reserved (until I'm not), conceptual, task-focused and love long-range planning.

Why Do I Champion Design Thinking?

As a passionate Design Thinker, my goal is to educate and empower others to utilize the methods of Human Centered Design. I love helping people solve business problems (i.e., innovation, problem solving, planning, etc.) in an intentional, impactful way.

Should you fish for others or teach them to fish for themselves?

While fishing for others may be easy in the short term, it's often unsustainable in the long term.

I am a LUMA Certified Lead Instructor of Human Centered Design. This allows me to help others build capabilities around problem framing, facilitation, planning and synthesis for themselves.

Interests

My husband and I bought a 100+ year old house. Over 5 years, we refinished the original hardwood floors, remodeled a bathroom, fought invading skunks and woodpeckers, protected it from harsh Michigan winters and tended the garden during the beautiful Michigan summers. My heart is happy when I'm crafting, gardening or DIYing.

Words...

...are important. But even more important is intentional communication. Without it, we allow our teammates, peers and leaders to assume or fill in the gaps themselves. Scary!
