Equal Heart

AmeriCorps Program Manager

Equal Heart's AmeriCorps program empowers people through National Service to reduce waste, feed families, and help reduce summer hunger for kids. As the AmeriCorps Program Manager, I work with the Executive Director to efficiently create and effectively implement systems related to programmatic administration and coordinate with site supervisors to ensure smooth service for AmeriCorps members.

◆ Ensure federal regulation requirements are being implemented and documented using Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access, and by thoroughly managing personnel files on every member
◆ Obtain, track and enter member data to ensure compliance and successful completion of all federal service requirements
◆ Coordinate member and supervisor trainings to provide meaningful reflection and enhanced education
◆ Recruit, interview, and train members across multiple service sites on a regular basis

Equal Heart

Food Recovery Specialist

Plate-It-Forward rescues surplus food from local food retailers that would otherwise be wasted and re-distributes to communities in need through Equal Heart's Direct-to-Door mobile food pantry. To date, over 10,000 lbs of food is recovered weekly to feed over 3,000 individuals each month.
I worked in a team to find and obtain startup funds, develop the re-distribution program, and recruit over 50 food donation partners in less than 6 months.

◆ Acted as a crucial catalyst and assistant grant writer in the attainment of $85,000 in necessary seed funding for the Mobile Food Access Network (Plate-It-Forward <--> Direct-to-Door)
◆ Facilitated community engagement by formulating community outreach materials to assist introducing the new program to the Dallas food industry and actively act as a brand ambassador
◆ Developed and incorporated donation tracking system to easily measure total pounds and dollar value of recovered food for additional investment
