Founding Executive Director of Horizons

•Provide leadership and direction for the Horizons program at The Ethel Walker School
•Participate with the Board of Directors in developing a vision and strategic plan to guide the organization
•Manage overall budgeting, financial planning and reporting for the site.
•Work with the Board to secure adequate funding for the operation of the organization
•Research funding sources, oversee the development of fund raising plans and write funding proposals to increase the funds of the organization
•Recruit, train and manage staff and ensure that they successfully reach organizational, personal and professional goal
•Coordinate, plan and execute selected aspects of the both the summer program and academic year programming.
•Coordinate public relations and communications activities for the site.
•Maintain a working relationship with leadership and key stakeholders of The Ethel Walker School and target schools.
•Identify a strong successful summer curriculum that is thematic, project based, and helps students develop reading and math skills.
•Work with faculty to identify ways to increase the quality of STEM programming offered.
•Oversee student assessment and data collection.
•Plan and coordinate the sharing of the assessment results with all relevant staff members.
•Conduct end of summer program evaluation to identify lessons learned, areas for improvement and best practices.
•Along with Reading Specialist, coordinate program data reporting to Horizons National, data collection for National student, teacher and program database and student feedback and reporting to families and schools.
•Work with schools to collect and share student information during the school year and identify best practices for communicating and working with summer programs.
•Conduct parent workshops to help families help their students succeed in school and to better work with schools.
