Clayton State University

Bachelor of Arts, English with a concentration in writing (Minor: Sociology)

When I started college, I originally wanted to be a veterinarian. I love animals and I knew helping them would bring me so much joy. As I was battling my way through the science classes, I ran into something else that brought so much joy to my life - English! I always loved reading and I found that I was a great writer with a natural talent for grammar. From then on, I knew I wanted to pursue a degree in English. Three years later, I was graduating from Clayton State University with a bachelor's degree in English.

Purpose EP.

COO, Editor-in-chief

This business was something that a former high school acquaintance of mine started years ago. She invited me to work with her in April 2015 when she realized she was going to need another editor. She brought me on as editor-in-chief. After working with her for over half a year, we decided that I did more than enough work to be titled COO. I worked to build the business in any and all areas so that we can be one of the top editing and publishing companies in the world.

Clayton State University's Writers' Studio

Writing Consultant

Once I decided I wanted to pursue English, I heard about the Writers' Studio at my university. I heard they had positions open and when I heard about what I would do as a writing consultant, I knew this was somewhere I needed and wanted to be. I took a class to ensure I was prepared for the position and I was hired the following semester. I loved helping my peers with their writing and learning more about different writing styles, style guides, grammar, and more. This position provided me with a solid base for my goal of becoming a professional editor.

Cygnet Literary Magazine

Co-Senior Editor

This internship provided me with an opportunity to learn more about the vast array of genres there are in the literary world. I had the opportunity to learn what goes into publishing a literary magazine from the selection process to the finalization of the magazine. I learned so much from this internship and I'm proud to say that I have had my work published in this magazine!

Published Articles

Not only was I co-senior editor of this literary magazine, but two of my poems were published in this magazine as well!

Clayton State University's Recreation & Wellness Outdoor Adventure

Outdoor Adventure Trip Leader & Challenge Course Facilitator

When I was offered this position, I was on the fence about rather or not I was right for the job. I wasn't very active and I was nervous about being in charge when the time came to go skydiving or snorkeling. In the end, I loved my job. It was an amazing opportunity to get out and start learning about the world around me. This job turned me into an adventure lover!
