As a magazine editing student and freelance writer, my first loves are service and lifestyle journalism—but fonts, chai lattes, and adventure are all close seconds.

Self Employed

Freelance Writer

As a student journalist, I absolutely love freelance writing. It gives me the opportunity to try my hand at *so* many different types of articles and writing styles. Every new article is a learning experience—and what's not to love about that? My work appears regularly on Levo and in Inside Columbia Magazine.

My Big Career Moment

Landing an Internship in NYC

I've dreamed of working an editorial job in the Big Apple since I was 13 years old. It was surreal to join the Levo team for a summer and make that dream a reality!

My Thinking Talents

My Thinking Talents fall all across the board, but when it comes down to it, I spend a lot of time thinking about potential for improvement. As someone with Seeking Excellence, Thinking Ahead, and Goal Setting talents, I'm always asking myself, "How can I make things better in the future?"

Vox Magazine

Digital Editor

Vox is where University of Missouri journalism students go to learn what it *really* takes to put together a weekly city magazine. In my current role at the mag, I write blog posts, assist with social media, dream up web-exclusive content to accompany print stories, and make articles look pretty on the web.

MizzouRec Services & Facilities

Assistant Graphic Designer

When I'm not writing, you'll likely find me messing around with Adobe Illustrator. At MizzouRec, I design directional signage, promotional materials, and social media graphics—and work with the best RECreative team ever.

Levo

Editorial Intern

What better way to spend a summer in New York than interning with the amazing edit team at Levo? Every day that I come into work, I leave feeling #levoinspired.

Career

Inside Columbia Magazine

Editorial Intern

During the summer of 2014, I interned for this hyperlocal lifestyle mag in Columbia, MO. The best part about this gig? Every story led me to learn more and more about the amazing city in which I live, work, and go to school.

Green Living Magazine

Editorial Intern

It's only appropriate that I spent a summer interning at an environmental lifestyle magazine in my hometown of Scottsdale, Arizona: I grew up in a household where pluggable hybrid cars and solar panels reigned.

MOVE Magazine

Editor

Formally, MOVE Magazine is the arts and entertainment section of the University of Missouri's weekly student newspaper, The Maneater. Informally, it's that snarky friend you go to for all things cool in CoMo (that's Columbia, Missouri). After writing many a concert preview for MOVE, I was promoted to the editor position in April 2013.

University of Missouri

Soon-to-be Bachelor of Journalism, Magazine Editing

How awesome is it that my school is all about learning by way of practical experience? The School of Journalism's "Missouri Method" has done me well. M-I-Z!
