Consulted on the establishment of the Social Media Corps. Created and implemented social media training materials that would result in a 27% increase in viewers of conference content the first year, and nearly 63% the second. Engaged an audience of over 4.4 million in more than 25 countries. Secured and conducted interviews with high-level guests including Deepak Chopra, MD, Michelle Bachelet, Former Chilean President & Executive Director of UN Women, Madame Thobeka Madiba-Zuma, First Lady of South Africa, Bill Drayton, Founder of Ashoka, and Dean Ornish, MD, Founder of the Preventive Medicine Research Institute. Highlighted the wellness programs and top executives of Coca-Cola, MTV, and Hewlett-Packard in collaboration with the Global Business Coalition on Health.
Conceived the organization’s earliest company-wide communication strategy and editorial calendar, and instructed staff on their implementation. Established and maintained a diverse portfolio of media platforms including Facebook, Twitter, and the Medic Mobile blog, driving social media metrics to a 300% increase during my tenure as Director of Media. Communicated the impact of the brand at national conferences and universities, and identified opportunities in user-generated content. Hired, trained, and managed interns as needed.
Worked with the CEO to establish the strategic direction of The Patient Institute. Ensured operations met financial benchmarks. Engaged the wider San Antonio community through innovative online exhibits, city-wide events, and anti-bullying programming. Initiated pivotal relationships with organizations including the Alamo City Boy Scouts, the Girl Scouts of South West Texas, the San Antonio Police Department, Communities in Schools, The International Task Force, United to End Genocide, North American Reciprocal Museums, and Edgewood Independent School District. Established the Museum’s first consistent source of revenue, the Museum Shop, featuring drop-shipping agreements with UNC Press, Kansas University Press, Tree of Life Books, and the Zachor Foundation. Established the Museum’s first editorial calendar, award-nominated media campaigns including Foursquare and a mobile application, and increased news media coverage by over 200%.
Selected by committee to provide media coverage of the GBC Annual Conference. Engaged an audience of over 2 million viewers in 16 different countries, and provided exclusive interviews with UK maternal health advocate Sarah Brown, Global Business Coalition President John Tedstrom, Hewlett-Packard's Gabriele Zedlmayer, and Redken's Christine Schuster.
