Michaels Stores, Inc.

Sales Associate

As a valuable member of the Michaels' team, I was fortunate enough to participate in annual corporate meetings in regards to enhancing the stores profits, service, and overall growth. With the help of the managerial staff and my fellow coworkers I was able to meet daily dictated tasks for improving the store's planograms and profits.

While working at Michaels may have seemed like a typical high school retail job, it taught you to be creative with different situations presented. You had to opportunity to be someone's source of creativity for all occasions. Some of the most awarding times was when customers would return to the store to explain how well the project went over or how fantastic it looked as a new part of their home.

New Student Orientation

Orientation Leader

On a daily basis, I was given the opportunity to lead groups of students and parents through New Student Orientation while offering advice and providing information to create a welcoming environment as they prepare to transition to college.

As this is their first true day at college, these new students are both eager for new opportunities, but also worried about what they will be overcoming. I was able to mend the two overwhelming feelings together while giving them resources to optimize their time at the university.

Not only was I able to enhance their very first day of a new step in their lives but, I was able to be create a family rapport with 22 other students who shared the common goal of fortifying the experiences of new students.

Kappa Alpha Theta, Zeta Tau

Chief Marketing Officer

As if being part of large group of phenomenal women isn't enough, I was given the opportunity to become the Chief Marketing Officer and serve on the executive board for the Zeta Tau chapter. I oversee the women of my chapter on social media to ensure they are representing themselves and Theta in the best light in addition to ordering and designing apparel to be worn by members.

Orland, Maine

University of Delaware Alternative Breaks gave me the opportunity to aid those who are subjected to rural poverty in Maine. There, I worked closely with our community partners as well as the community to create a wholesome environment. Activities include, but were not limited to building a home, restoring a learning center, chopping wood used for wood burning heaters, and more.

Once Upon a Time

Maryville, Tennessee

Through the University of Delaware Alternative Spring Break program, I was given the tremendous opportunity to aid the Cherokee Community, build and restore land within the Smoky Mountains and obtain knowledge of a culture unfamiliar to me.
