I work in outpatient nutrition therapy persuading patients with pre- diabetes, type 2 diabetes and gestational diabetes to pursue diet changes. I am also the lead dietitian for cardiac rehabilitation, a virology clinic for HIV/AIDS patients and the eating disorder populations our hospital serves.
I am currently looking for new ways to improve quality, cost-effectiveness and promote the role of nutrition within our health system. Nutrition Services is sometimes is often an overlooked department because we deal with "soft" skills and data - behavior change, motivational interviewing, daily food intake. I see the impact we make each day in patients' lives and I want healthcare to embrace it and USE it.
