As a barista, my responsibilities included warmly greeting the guests as they walk into the coffee shop. After giving them time to look over the menu, I would proceed to take their order and make the specialty beverage and/or specialty sandwich. If the guest pays with cash, I would give the guest proper change. Every day in the bank closing, my ending balance would match the beginning total down to the penny.
