Schedule and manage work tasks in alignment with the overall team schedule for optimal work flow.
Independently perform laboratory tasks using aseptic techniques according to standard operating procedures. Tasks include culture inoculation and incubation, culture storage, data recording, and operation of specialized laboratory reactors and automated systems.
Operate basic laboratory instrumentation supporting the high throughput research work flow based on standard operating procedures. Develop skills in recognizing equipment malfunctions and performing basic, routine maintenance.
Document work consistently using appropriate data collection tools. Demonstrate proficiency in standard software platforms such as Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
Recognize when results deviate from expectations and identify opportunities to improve standard operating procedures through experimental design.
Suggest process improvements to existing procedures, equipment, and databases to improve performance
Identify opportunities to further enhance the work process based on personal experience and through the deployment of improvement tools such as participation on Six Sigma project teams.
