WCCS Claims Associate (Weather and Catastrophe Claim Service)

•Works under close supervision with direction from the Claim Specialist
•Uses various electronic resources for claim handling
•Develops and applies knowledge of insurance contracts and endorsements, company claim procedures, federal/state laws, and customer service philosophy to conclude claims handled in a team environment
•Utilizes appropriate job aids, expertise and tools to accurately and consistently handle claims according to file documentation workflow and standard claim processes
•Completes phone scope of damages with the assistance of the policyholder including; a detailed description of property damage, identification of building items, measurements needed to complete non-complex property damage repair estimate and issues claim settlement
•May request material samples for evaluation
•Reviews and establishes values on submitted estimates with State Farm estimate on non-complex property damage losses and issues replacement cost benefits payments
•With the assistance of the policyholder phone scopes and secures inventory of damaged personal property and enters into contents estimating platform and issues claim settlement payment
•Request and reviews replacement quotes on personal property loss claims
•Reviews and establishes values on invoices and receipts submitted on personal property losses and issues payment for replacement cost benefits
•Recognizes and refers complex coverage or technical issues that are beyond the scope of authority to the claim specialist, or team manager
•Recognizes and handles subrogation opportunities, updating all appropriate subrogation fields and moves file to subrogation for handling
•Recognizes and identifies NICB indicators
•Collaborates with other claim segments and internal partners
•Interacts with external vendors, contractors and service providers as needed
•May resolve a large volume of claim calls in an in-office environment

• Responds to all incoming signals in our automation software according to documented procedures. When deemed appropriate, calls the premise, notifies the authorities, and calls a list of contacts. Logs all information into the automation system immediately.
• Answers the multi-line telephone system, notifies callers that all calls are recorded, and ensures that they are connected with the appropriate party.
• Performs data entry to include the creation of sites, systems, and zones. Updates records when requested according to procedures.
• Reports any deviation from policy to Central Station Supervisor immediately.
• Ensures confidentiality of customer information at all times.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
