A New Chapter

Graduating college and transitioning into the real world is hard — but I couldn't be happier that I took the leap and bought my one way ticket to NYC. The best part of this transition? The people I've met in the last few months. The biggest lessons I've learned? Never say no and stop being afraid.

Follow my random musings about life here.

Northwestern University

Bachelor of Science, Journalism, International Studies, Global Health

Attending Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism was a dream of mine since the 8th grade, and my Wildcat experience did not disappoint. At NU I learned how to be an active listener, an open-minded citizen, and to proactively better myself through learning from those around me. Highlights: studying abroad in South Africa, attending every football game, winning the Global Health Case Competition.

Energy BBDO

New Business / Communications Intern

During my Journalism Residency, I became an integral part of daily agency activities, from internal company meetings to monitoring social media for Bud Light's Super Bowl commercial. I spearheaded projects that included new social media strategies for the agency, research for new potential agency clients, and reviewing the agency's entire body of work in 2014.

Inspiration

I've been following Nicholas Kristof's career for half a decade; his work largely influenced my decision to study journalism. Nick has done incredible work for women's rights, both within the US and abroad. Meeting and interviewing him last year was incredible, and I urge everyone to read his books and watch his documentaries.

Allstate

Regional Marketing Intern

At a large company like Allstate, it's essential to make sure information flows successfully from headquarters to regional offices and all the way out to thousands of agents. I was responsible for creating customer service guides, piloting a cinema program for agents to improve customer experience, and assisting the Digital team with the launch of new agent video profiles.

Thinking Talents

This app helped me understand my obsession with lists, why I beg people to let me organize their homes, and why I need to make plans so far in advance. In a career sense, however, learning about my Thinking Talents has helped me adapt to become more efficient and productive.
