Academic Project: Spoon Magazine

In a program sponsored by Meredith Corporation, we developed a prototype launch publication that fits into an assigned Meredith business plan. Our project, Spoon Magazine, was a hybrid between Meredith's foodie social networking site MixingBowl.com and a quarterly print publication. Our demographic: young, affluent college graduates, both male and female. The group is responsible for all aspects of production including developing an editorial/sales plan and utilizing new technologies in a marketing capacity. We focused on the unique marketing possibilities for this age group and using Facebook, Twitter, live events and bundling with existing publications, we created a entry point for the youth market to enter the Meredith brand family.
