Interpret the legal framework of the Liberian Forestry sector into easy to understand concepts for a cross section of attendees including: staff of the Forestry Development Authority, Government of Liberia ministries, agencies, and commissions, and private sector operators. Conduct refresher courses for the LVD staffs and the update of the training materials, where necessary. Provide specialist Liberia legal knowledge and inputs into the work of the external Legality Expert to ensure that the following are properly reviewed and tested to confirm their conformity with prevailing laws and regulations in Liberia

Assist the Bureau of National Fisheries (BNF), Ministry of Agriculture(MOA) in preparation of all contracts, agreements and legal documents; Advise the BNF on all activities regarding transgression of the fisheries law and regulations,and advise other agencies of government on the necessary steps to achieve successful prosecution/resolution of illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing cases; Assist the BNF in compiling relevant evidence for submission to the Ministry of Justice, and guide the Government of Liberia's prosecution team on issues of international fisheries laws to ensure that actions taken are in keeping with the law; Write legal memoranda applying international law of the sea and maritime matters to the Liberian legal framework; Compile case facts, create and maintain record of all IUU related cases and their outcomes; Identify training needs and provide training for BNF and MOJ staff to enhance knowledge of national and international fisheries and maritime matters, and to improve the capacity of prosecutors in understanding and adjudicating fisheries related cases when they emerge; Serve as legal advisor to the licensing committee of the BNF/MOA and to the Monitoring , Control and Surveillance coordination committee (MCSCC) on international fisheries and maritime matters especially, compliance to UNCLOS, FAO Port State Agreement, etc.; Serve as the legal liaison between the BNF/MOA and the MOJ to ensure that issues related to fisheries and Agriculture are accorded due attention and treated timely; Lead negotiations for fisheries related international instruments and Perform other related tasks as may be determined by the BNF/MOA.
