Interests

Getting to know people and learning about how unique or similar we are. Anything outdoors! I love virtually all sports but there's something about soccer! I enjoy reading and writing on rainy days. My dream job would be to work as a humanitarian aid worker, mainly in disaster relief or conflict resolution. However, I also have a keen interest in the foreign service and could envision a career as a Foreign Service Officer in consular affairs.

Currently studying social movements and global resistance politics in a class context. Previous studies include international relations, comparative methods, and identity politics. My field of research is comparative politics, with a focus on electoral politics and extreme political parties in Western Europe. Given the salience of politico-cultural issues in Europe, my research is breaking new ground and can be used in future publications.

Assisted lead professor with large-scale comparative analysis of determinants of electoral support for Western-European political parties. Researched, compiled, and analyzed extensive data on political and socioeconomic indicators in over 30 European countries. Prepared spreadsheet for data collection, as well as a number of supporting documents (e.g. activity log, summary reports and annexes). The project has contributed to academic working papers and publications.

Lived and worked in South Korea as a conversational English teacher. Prepared class curriculum and animated class workshops and activities for students aged 4 to 16 years of age. Leader and organizer of the English Conversion Camp in summer 2012. Visited Japan and China while abroad.

Frequently answered telephone calls and prepared written correspondence. Prepared meeting minutes and agendas, and other project-related outputs (e.g. status reports, project change logs, and contract procurement plans). Made frequent use of Microsoft Office (MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and Project) and technical software programs. Also performed administrative tasks such as photocopying, filing, printing, and mailing.
