Working in the Development Department of a nonprofit and managing stewardship events peaked my interest in event management. After much consideration, I enrolled in the Event Management Certificate program at GW to enhance my skills and learn more about the field.
I completed the program in July and have been working to learn more about the industry by volunteering at various events and networking with other like-minded professionals.

This photo with the Elon University President Leo Lambert is exactly why I loved Elon. He worked hard to create a campus environment where everyone felt welcome and empowered. In addition to life long friends, Elon equipped me be successful in the "real world."
Working with such a talented team at Read Ahead to help bring the love of reading to young students through mentoring has been wonderful. This photo is from our most recent gala which raised critical funds for the organization. Seeing this event in action after such hard work was extremely rewarding.

For reasons I can't remember now, I decided to run a half-marathon. This was a feat considering running isn't high on my list of favorites. But the process of training helped me to learn more about myself and I am so grateful for all of the support I had to get me to the finish line.Read more about my running adventure.
