Posada Esperanza of Casa Marianella

Family Advocate

As a family advocate, I case manage strong and brave women who have immigrated to the United States, to find peace from violence or to provide their children with better opportunities.

Getting to know the women and children who seek shelter at Posada Esperanza has been inspiring and has provided me with new perspectives.

I am proud to be part of a multicultural community who strives to give a space for families to be empowered and build a better lives for themselves and their children.

New York University

Bachelor of Arts, Psychology, Studio Art and Spanish

Going to college in the Big Apple helped me grow in numerous ways; I learned to navigate a big city, find my identity, and be a young professional while studying.

Thanks to volunteering and working as well as going to school, I was able to understand the value of hard work.

With the psychology and studio art classes I took, I also realized I wanted to go into community art and art therapy.

Studying abroad in Buenos Aires, Argentina also helped shape me. I was able to perfect my Spanish, get to know another big city and the wonderful people who live there.

I am so happy I attended NYU and wouldn't have had it any other way.
