Palo Alto Networks

Apple Certified Technical Coordinator

Upon hire at Palo Alto Networks as Mac Desktop Support, it was clear that they had no Mac support or plans to deal with growth. Therefore my role quickly included Initiation of the Mac Support Program. The duties of of which were:

Initiating Deployment Systems
Creating and maintaining Corporate Images
Initiating and maintaining Purchasing
Setting Mac Standards
Establishing International Deployment
Providing Executive Support
Providing Documentation

Simultaneously I was part of the IT desktop support team working as administration for the AD and Exchange servers, administration for the Shortel phone system, Windows XP/7/8, maintaining stock room, imaging and deploying both Macs and Dells, general basic AV setup and maintenance, workstation deployment, hardware/software break fixes and general printer maintenance.

When I started with the company it was 500 people strong globally, with 50 macs in use without support, and 4 techs (including myself) supporting them all. When I left the company 1 1/4 years later the company had doubled in employees to 1000 globally, 500 of which were Mac users with only myself as support, 500 dells which 6 members of the 7 man team maintained. I had integrated the macs into the domain with the assistance of the system administrators, put an OD into place, and was attempting to bring in JAMF's Casper suite for managing the Macs. In September of 2012 I became certified as an ACTC (Apple Certified Technical Coordinator)
