Crisis Center of Comal County

Victim Advocacy

Since September 2013, DJ has given nearly 2,000 hours of direct service to victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking at the Crisis Center of Comal County. DJ is involved in crisis response, forensic sexual assault exams, government administration, grant writing, non-profit development, and public policy advocacy.

During DJ's senior year of high school, DJ was invited by Superintendent Andrew Kim to serve as student body representative on the District's Strategic Planning Committee which developed a 5-year rolling plan that established the mission, vision, and goals of the Comal Independent School District.

In partnership with Lady Gaga's non-profit, the Born This Way Foundation, Channel Kindness aims to use traditional and popular media to share good news. Channel Kindness reports on young people making a difference in their community. DJ is one of fifty Reporters nationwide.

Big Brothers Big Sisters

"Big" Mentor

Big Brothers Big Sisters cultivates one-on-one mentorship for school-age children to promote academic excellence and avoid risky behaviors. DJ served as a "Big Brother" to a young man in the South Texas region.

Campaign to Elect DJ Seeger

In February 2014, at 19 years of age, DJ filed a declaration of intent to seek the office of Sheriff of Comal County, Texas. During his campaign, DJ captured attention as the youngest candidate for the time honored position of the County's top lawman. DJ's bid for Sheriff became a platform from which DJ now works closely with government officials at the local and state level.

San Antonio Against Slavery and the Alamo Area Coalition Against Trafficking bring together law enforcement, social services, advocates and survivors to win the fight against human trafficking and the sexual exploitation of children in the San Antonio Metro Area, the seventh largest city in the United States.

Student Intern

During DJ's junior year of high school, DJ was afforded the opportunity to intern with the DoD at the United States Battlefield Health & Trauma Research Center at Fort Sam Houston, Texas. During DJ's internship he participated in a burn resuscitation research project to provide soldiers in the battlefield with life-saving medical protocols for treating third degree burns.

Secretary (J-CREW Program)

DJ was elected to serve as the Secretary of the J-CREW Program (Junior-Classmen Responding Emergency Workers) which gives high school students re world experience and training in emergency medical services and fire rescue.

President

DJ served as the President, Vice President, and Treasurer of the Canyon Lake Chapter of the Junior State of America, a national student-led political organization which provides high school students with the opportunities to acquire leadership skills and become effective public administrators. DJ's service to the JSA helped him build relationships with Texas Congress.
