Police Detective

Joined Toronto Police Service as a cadet. I was assigned to the Summons a Bureau where I was responsible for serving summons and criminal subpoenas.
Promoted to police constable where I was assigned to divisional uniform policing as a primary response officer.
Transferred to youth bureau where my main responsibilities were child physical and sexual abuse criminal investigations as a Detective Constable.
Promoted to Sergeant and transferred to a different division where I was responsible for supervising and managing police constables.
Transferred within that division to Criminal Investigation Unit where I was responsible for major criminal investigations as a Detective.
Transferred to Headquarters Sexual Assault Unit as a Detective responsible for a team of Detective Constables investigating sexual assaults in the City of Toronto.
Returned to divisional policing as a Sergeant responsible once again for supervising and managing police constables as well as the booking and release of prisoners.
Returned to Headquarters to Financial Crimes Unit - Proceeds of Crime where I was responsible for a project involving asset forfeiture.

Initially hired as cashier/hostess for the coffee shop and dining room. Moved to bartending in the main lounge, banquet halls and tavern.

Ontario Police College Toronto Police College

Attended Ontario Police College for training required to become police officer. Attended Toronto Police College and Ontario Police College throughout career for ongoing training to remain current and Provincially mandated requirements.
Courses and training focused on being a criminal investigator. Some courses taken included but not limited to are;

Sexual Assault Investigations
Child Abuse Investigations
Major Case Management
Death Investigations
Interview / Interrogation Techniques
Supervisory/Leadership Training
