Hybrid Role: Structured Finance Attorney and Credit Rating Analyst.
Identify structural and legal risks and mitigants in securitization transactions and make rating recommendations in line with published rating methodologies.
Analyze quality of collateral and structural features by reviewing due diligence reports, the legal documentation, including the reps and warranties framework and true sale/ security interest/ bankruptcy issues, the output of internal cash flow models, and by evaluating the ability, financial stability and performance history of the mortgage originator and the servicer, etc.
Lead rating committees, coordinate with internal and external parties to obtain information necessary for the rating, and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
Communicate with market participants regarding rating methodologies. Manage timing of transactions .
Draft and publish presale reports on rated transactions.
Knowledgeable of rules related to the due diligence services in asset-backed transactions, and Rule 17g-5 of the Securities Exchange Act.
Research market and regulatory developments affecting the consumer finance markets, with an emphasis on the residential mortgage market.
Analyst on rating securities backed by the following assets:
- prime jumbo residential mortgages
- single-family rentals
- re-performing mortgages
- mortgage warehouse facility (back-to-back repo)
- non-QM residential mortgages
- GSE-eligible mortgages
