As the Maitre’D and first point of contact for all guests, I manage the flow of the restaurant by carefully orchestrating seating that allows the servers to effectively attend to their guests and the kitchen to succeed in appropriate delivery times to those guests, all while providing excellent customer service in a high-volume environment that requires me to multi-task and problem solve at moments notice.


-Maximize seating for the restaurant by coordinating with servers, kitchen staff and customers, taking into account average dining times, scheduled staff, and flow of food coming from the kitchen.

- Maintain a dining room presence: making myself available to guests to ensure they have an excellent experience and to provide support for my counterparts.

-Administrative tasks include: daily coordinate menu changes with the chef and update the menu accordingly; Coordinate reservations and special table requests with the events manager and ensure that the rest of the staff is well informed on these matters; Check out each server at the end of their shift by recording their daily sales and retrieving their cash and credit card slips; Send a daily report via email to upper management and owners that includes the sales for the shift, the cover count and any VIP’s that dined.
