Division of Children and Families
State of New Jersey Department of Child Protection
February 1997 — July 2012
I was a Child Protection officer from 1997 until 1999 at which time I became a supervisor. In 2005 I became the supervising social worker at The Children's Home in Vineland, NJ until they closed January of 2012 due to Governor ordered budget cuts. At this time I was offered, and accepted, retirement with a lifetime pension salary and full healthcare. I worked briefly at the state building in Trenton supervising a child abuse hotline unit until my retirement paperwork was complete.
During my years with the Department I worked with every type of child endangerment situation including kidnapping and trafficking victims, and all types of severely abused and neglected children. I worked with local, State and Federal police on countless cases assuring child victims were rescued and perpetrators arrested and convicted. I testified in countless civil and criminal proceedings and I am still sometimes required to appear or submit an Affidavit.
