Public Relations Student Society of America - Bowie State Chapter

As the President of the Bowie State Chapter of the Public Relations Student Society of America, I engage PR students on campus as they explore what the field has to offer. This year, our average meeting attendance has already increased by 100%!

Bowie State University

Public Relations Intern

In the University Relations & Marketing Office, I support various public relations functions. Whether creating engaging social media content, developing interview questions or photographing campus events, I learn something new every day. The team's dedication to promoting the achievements of BSU students, faculty and staff is motivating.

Bowie State University

Bachelor of Science, Communications

Bowie State University's 5 core values: Excellence, Civility, Integrity, Diversity and Accountability, fuel my aspiration to become a well-rounded person and accomplished professional. My professors are invested in helping students succeed by the ways they challenge us to step outside our comfort zones — that's how I know I'm at the right place. #BulldogNation

A Dance Lesson

Dance taught me that risk-taking and perseverance are essential to success. I was never an "amazing" dancer — I didn't have the ideal body and I lacked classical training. I took extra dance classes and got the opportunity to do something I never ended up doing at my performing arts school...perform en pointe!

My Thinking Talents

I credit my Focusing, Precision and Seeking Excellence results to the countless hours I used to spend in dance rehearsals.

A Note to Self

As a nontraditional student (I took a pretty long break after high school, then started at community college), I often feel guilty about the time I had to take off. Some days, it's hard to shake the feeling that I should be doing more, or that I'm so far behind I'm failing. I wrote this on one of those days.
