"I never think of the future. It comes soon enough." "Now he has departed from this strange world a little ahead of me. That means nothing. People like us, who believe in physics, know that the distinction between past, present, and future is only a stubbornly persistent illusion." " of the strongest motives that lead men to art a...

While at Noise, I've helped to grow the engineering department's source control methodologies, starting with transitioning a primarily SVN workflow to Git with proper branching strategies. I've also helped move from FTP deploys to Git targeted deploys, using systems such as Capistrano, DeployHQ, custom built web hooks, and SSH. I've implemented tooling solutions for both front and backend work using framework specific console applications in PHP and Ruby, to automating Frontend build solutions using Grunt, Bower, and Yeoman. Frontend work has involved refactoring large scale codebases to use conventions such as OOCSS, and then packaging as either SASS or LESS modules, as well as breaking down cumbersome JavaScript applications to use AMD loaders and production packaging. When our group began shifting into API centric design patterns for RESTful applications, I helped educate junior programmers how to create both thin frontend clients, utilizing Serverside templating systems for heavy lifting, as well as thick single page applications which utilized heavy state management and async patterns. I also aided our DevOps to create unified system images using Chef and Docker.

Integrated Computer Solutions / Buzzedword

Integrated Computer Solutions is an IT company that I started while in college to aid students with technical issues when the helpdesk could not. Upon leaving the school, I used the network that I had established to help students find freelance and part time work professionally until I disbanded the company, refocusing under an LLC named Buzzedword. I've adopted Buzzedword as my personal brand, contributing to open source projects, and aiding companies looking to make more open technology choices.

I developed student queue management applications using C# and ASP.NET 2.0-3.5. I also created a suite of SAML authenticated applications for the student body to submit FAFSA worksheets, Work Study applications, and course registration. During my time at TCI, I implemented Live@EDU, one of the first Azure hosted offerings from Microsoft which combined a rich OAuth SDK, Exchange, SOAP interfaces to Active Directory services as well as Sharepoint document endpoints to add extranet functionality to an existing Sharepoint farm. I integrated custom plugins for ZenDesk utilizing Active Directory to populate custom fields with student data in HelpDesk tickets. I also scripted PowerShell daily jobs to process prospective students into Live@EDU entities. Other responsibilities included auditing marketing initiative microsites built on RoR, Django, PHP, and ASP/ASP.NET.
