Child Protection Social Worker - Intake and Investigations Practicum Position (350 hours)
September 2015 — Present
350 hour BSW Practicum investigating child protection and child welfare concerns and working closely with the pertinent legislation (CFCSA, 1996) in a small region with a substantially high rate of domestic violence cases. This front-line intake and investigations social work position involves working with a high volume of incidents whilst working directly with families and thoroughly completing complex assessments, documentation, and report writing to determine the need for protecting children from unsafe--abusive and/or neglectful--home environments or people.
I consistently utilize my strongly developed skills in interpersonal communication, anti-oppressive practice, emotional intelligence, crisis intervention, organization, and time management independently as I am interviewing adults, youth and children and while engaging in a team workplace environment with my colleagues.
