J Sainsburys is a multinational FTSE 100 leading company with a renowned reputation, providing the best products and service within the current global market. Throughout the last 14 months working as a Department Manager for J Sainsbury, I have grown significantly in stature. Previously a Customer service colleague with Marks and Spencer, whilst studying at university to be successfully appointed as a Trainee Manager, for the new Sainsburys talent team which was a great achievement for me. I have adapted thoroughly once again to a new change of environment and further accountability. Emphasis now to ensure I coordinate the efforts of my colleagues to meet desired objectives, using the resources to hand to deliver successful team performance. Using numerous skills of planning, organising and delegating .I manage alternate departments within the retail store to understand the difference between how the departments run, liaising with different colleague attitudes, leading and directing the team to guarantee the department runs smoothly. As well as running a department I have also been trading the shop floor of the Salford superstore essentially running the whole supermarket verifying that we are trading safely and legally. I thrive under high pressure working in an exceedingly busy environment retaining shop floor standards, trading safely and legally, managing colleagues, undergoing daily processes, hitting sales targets and the most important ownership of providing the best customer service to our customers at Sainsbury. I have also incorporated many sales techniques within my department using point of sales, shippers, specific planagrams and management specials, in particular areas to help increase sales and entice customers to the products which are on offer.
