2nd Grade Teacher & Team Leader

As a second grade self-contained classroom teacher, I work to provide engaging classroom instruction for 21 students at RME. My classroom includes gifted learners, ELL students, and Special Education inclusion students.
As team leader, I am expected to encourage our team to work interdependently to achieve common goals. I am responsible for leading the team in preparing and applying team norms, planning meeting agendas, facilitating team planning, serving as a communications link between administration and the faculty, leading the team in evaluating common assessment data, seeking out tools to improve our teaching, and identifying and communicating both professional and grade level needs.
Administratively, I serve as our Campus Webmaster and oversee our campus website. This entails maintaining our campus calendar, sending campus e-fliers and newsletters, creating campus news for our district website, and curating content for our page from various classroom, PTO and campus events.
Additionally, I am a campus PBIS – Positive Behavior Interventions and Support – committee leader. As a new PBIS campus, our team is working to design and implement a school wide approach to discipline for creating a safer and more effective school.
