University of Arkansas

Administrative Specialist II for the Political Science Department

Just started, but am excited to see what new and wonderful opportunities await me in this position. The chance to learn? Definitely. The chance to meet new and interesting people? Everyday. Moving in a direction that feels more true to me? Heck yes!

Career medium 03

Toyota of Fayetteville

File Clerk

Tackled heavy amounts of paperwork with finesse and efficiency. Perhaps, a little too efficient with this one. There are some jobs that make you realize that something different would be a better fit. For me, this was one of those jobs. Not to worry though, it was a learning experience and I walked away with more knowledge about myself and what I wanted in a job.

Bentonville Public Library

PT Circulation Clerk III

Developed customer service skills, detail-orientation skills, and time-management. Worked with an incredible group of people. I was sad to leave, but part-time doesn't pay all the bills. I believe that this job put me on the path to understanding more of my strengths and improving some of my weaknesses.

Career medium 04

University of Arkansas

Bachelor of Art, English

Pursued English as my major after realizing my aptitude for noticing details and themes in literature. Having been an avid reader all of my life, English was the perfect major for me. The courses I took taught me to hone my writing and editing abilities, but also taught me to pursue my interests regardless of how different (Latin, anyone?) or difficult.

Education large 02

NorthWest Arkansas Community College

Associate of Science, General Studies

My education here was what drove me to pursue English once I transferred to the University of Arkansas. I originally intended to major in Biology, but once I started taking my English courses, I realized that I had a fine eye for the details and overarching themes. While here I also took mainly online classes that taught me the value of organization and time-management.
