Labor and Employment Specialist III - National Dislocated Worker Grant Coordinator

This position functions as the Workforce Development National Dislocated Worker Grant (formerly National Emergency Grant) Subject Matter Expert (SME) to coordinate/oversee the National Dislocated Workers (NDW) grants; Design workforce process, policy and tools related to unique National Dislocated Worker Grants that includes Colorado's Disaster National Emergency Grant (NEG) and Sectors NEG; Serve as SME for future NDW grants and associated special funding that includes projects to serve same or similar populations in response to locally defined projects (i.e. Office of Economic Development and International Trade (OEDIT) Disaster Recovery Funds).
Ensures strategic alignment and streamlines processes between Workforce Development Programs (WFD) and workforce regions to enhance partnerships and stakeholder relationships and leverage resources for use with NDW grants.
Works with higher level managers and delegated authorities to speak as a SME regarding integration, implementation and administration of NDW grants. This position remains an SME for DW program in order to help integration of programs/initiatives.
This position serves as State staff authority for NDW grant initiatives that involve workforce programs. NDW grant programs have specific rules and regulations and are highly detailed and complex. The position will work to bridge gaps and streamline programs and processes for initiatives that involve workforce regions and stakeholder relationships.
