Mucky Pup'z Mobile Dog Grooming.

Dog Groomer.

Due to the owners at P & S deciding on retirement in 2014 I completed a Level 2 City & Guilds dog grooming course, and started working part time at Mucky Pup'z (16 hours per week) therefore reducing my working hours at P & S Fruit & Veg with the knowledge i won't return in 2014. My roles included driving a 3.5 tonne van to customers houses, filling out a health and safety form in which the owners sign, grooming their pets in the back of the van, returning the pets to their owners and repeating this process 5-6 times per day, at the end of the day I had to clean the van, replenish supplies within the van such as shampoo, conditioner, water and towels. Take all dirty towels out of the van and wash them and prepare the van for the next user. I then had to place customers name and contact details into a database using excel.

P & S Fruit And Veg.

Sales Assistant.

I started working for this company part time at the age of thirteen as a Saturday girl in 2006 my main role was to take all empty boxes to the large compactor outside and return to the shop with an empty trolley, I then had to replenish the shelves with stock located in a stock room at the back of the store, in 2009 I finished high school and became assistant manager for the business and started working full time (48 hours per week) my job roles changed slightly to working the till, taking phone orders and recording them accurately, writing out bills for company's that placed the phone orders, doing a stock check in which I transfer the information by phone on to the boss who collects the stock from a wholesalers the following morning and cashing up the tills. I thoroughly enjoyed working as part of the retail sector and feel that the job helped me to develop my skills working as part of a team in the day and also working independently when taking orders and doing the stock check in the evening.

Dogs Trust Roden.

Volunteer Dog Walker.

In June 2012 I became a volunteer for the dogs trust, my main job was to take the dogs out of the kennels and walk then around a large field owned by the dogs trust and then place them back into the kennels safely and securely. I would then take out another dog and repeat the process for whatever time frame I choose.

Chetwynd Firs Kennels And Cattery

Volunteer Kennel Assistant

Completed a month's work experience as part of my year 10 high school curriculum, my jobs included cleaning the kennels and Cattery sections and disinfecting the cages to reduce the risk of cross contamination of diseases such as kennel cough and fleas etc. I had to write in log books of dates and times the animal arrived and left, certain dietary and medication requirements, medical history within the last 12 months and if the animal's vaccinations are up to date. I then had to look at the log book to follow the directions to give the right amount and brand of food at the right time of day and to make sure the animal had the correct medication if necessary. Following my work experience I then continued to do the odd weekend work to cover when staff were on holiday or illness etc. this ended after approximately 4 months.
