Commissioned Officer Commanding Recruiting

Officer Commanding RAF recruiting Edinburgh, London and Dundee
Responsible for 3 teams in Scotland (Edinburgh, Dundee and Outreach) and one team in London, my role was to ensure that the running of RAF recruitment continues in the south east England and east Scotland both efficiently and professionally whilst always looking at ways in which I could develop it further. As well as managing the offices in business related tasks, I was also the point of contact for all welfare issues. The Outreach side of my job provided me the opportunity to visit Private and Public Schools and Universities and deliver presentations, interviews and team building exercises as well as scout out those with potential leadership skills.

Commissioned Officer Commanding Accounts

Officer Commanding Accounts
I was responsible for managing and controlling the Stations finances, this varied from controlling the Station Welfare money to managing all financial aspects of the Station projects. I also oversaw and managed the finances for over 100 clubs and businesses. As well as managing the station finances I also sought to ensure that all funds followed correct policy. I did this by establishing an audit board which I then managed and monitored as well as lead any required investigation of financial discrepancies. As OC accounts I used my financial knowledge to act as financial advisor for the Officers Mess, Junior Ranks finances and several other committees. I was also directly responsible for the Ten Pin Bowling club, the Flying club and I created a Paintball centre.

Commissioned Officer Infrastructure Project manager

I was responsible for the future infrastructure use and design plans at RAF Wittering. I liaised with several different organisations in order to gain expert advice on the criteria required for certain specialist operations so that all future work place locations were equipped correctly for operation. I also regularly visited and interviewed the work force in order to gain a better understanding of their needs. My research allowed me to redesigning the station buildings in a way which accommodated the extra functions required by the additional personnel and equipment and within a tight budget. In order to allow me to understand more about project management I completed and passed the Prince2 Practitioner course in the early stages of the project.
