Development Lead & Recruiter
August 2011 — June 2014
Develop and deliver cultural training seminars and recruit translators and interpreters for projects ranging from healthcare to oil and gas, located in the US and offshore.
• Designed twelve cultural training presentations for the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services to familiarize them with the different cultures that they handle. Conducted research on the most frequent cultures encountered by TDFPS, created the powerpoint presentations, recorded the audio narration, and published the trainings using Articulate so they could be accessed online. Result: TDFPS now has trainings, which aid their personnel in handling multiple cultures and allow them to have continuing education credits. MasterWord Services’ contract was retained by TDFPS, in part, due to the added value of the trainings.
• Staffed an onsite translation project in Kazakhstan. Vetted candidates through resume review, translation tests, and Skype interviews in order to find suitable translators for a long-term, onsite project for Chevron in Kazakhstan. Result: MasterWord had twenty viable candidates to choose from, once the contract was approved and easily staffed the project.
• Recruited Russian translators for a London-based on-site oil and gas project. Successfully screened and tested multiple candidates. Result: MasterWord had ten viable candidates who were qualified in technical English to Russian translation and willing to work for the project.
