Clare Ferguson

Connector. Community Builder. Faith Leader

World Vision International

As a nonprofit professional, I spend my time empowering people and communities of faith to make a positive impact on the world around them through providing connections to resources, relationships, and information.

World Vision International

Internship Programmes Intern

I love providing passionate people with resources to grow into new skills and opportunities. In my role at World Vision I provide weekly newsletters to the national intern cohort filled with professional development resources and current international development news. I also get to recruit emerging professionals for international development internship positions across the World Vision International Partnership.

One of my proudest accomplishments during my time at World Vision was when I coordinated and spoke at the Los Angeles Global Centre Chapel service on World Visions' diversity as a unique witness to the Christian faith.

Rose City Church Internship 2014

Quarterly Service Project

Instead of meeting for a service our church served at Door of Hope, a family homeless shelter, cleaning, organizing, and managing donations to benefit the operations of the shelter. This service event had the highest attendance of any church service project to date.

Church in the Park Sunday

As part of the Listening Campaign at Rose City Church I helped organize a Church in the Park event. We made several new connections with neighbors. The event also contribute to the start of weekly neighborhood basketball meet ups to further neighborhood relations.

Affordable Housing Brunch

A church wide brunch was held to discuss the results of the Listening Campaign. We had community leaders, church members and pastoral staff present on our results from the year long discernment process

Korean Bar-B-Que Student Outreach

I managed a diverse team of 8-10 volunteers who prepared weekly meals for the local community college students. The ministry provided opportunities to build relationships with neighbors, students, and campus ministries.

Fuller Theological Seminary

Master of Divinity, Church Community Engagement

I concentrated on the Christian church's role in positive social change. I analyzed the global Christian church's impact on the promotion of the Jubilee 2000 Campaign and assessed the effectiveness of 3 Los Angeles churches' community engagement strategies.

It was through my research that I have been convinced of the positive power of faith communities in society.

San Antonio Catholic Worker House

House Coordinator

Overseeing a small nonprofit had its fill of challenges, but I absolutely loved managing this soup kitchen and family shelter. It was during my time working here that I realized my favorite part of the job was training and mentoring the short term and long term volunteers. I knew I wanted to help people live out their passion for social change in meaningful ways.

Mission Year Chicago 2008-2009

My time living on the westside of Chicago serving in a community development organization changed my whole perspective on service and Christian ministry. I saw first hand the power of the local church and faith leaders to transform a community for the better. I knew I had to be part of that work!

Texas Tech University

Bachelors of Science, Major in Human Development and Family Studies, Minor in International Studies

My undergraduate studies allowed me to bring together my diverse passions. I was selected by my professor to participate as a research assistant in moral development assessments on preschool aged children. This experience along with my study abroad experience in Rome, Italy gave me the change to study human development in diverse cultural contexts.
