CJ Surita

Visual Designer | Writer

I'm a visual designer by title and I have a passion for anything visually striking be it a renaissance painting or modern architecture. I love period dramas and novels so don't be surprised to find me watching Pride and Prejudice and Persuasion for the 100th time.

Visual Designer

I got to work with people all over the world. From different professions, personalities and aesthetic preferences. Working as a freelancer has a different set of rules and sometimes it can be a challenge to manage your own time but it definitely teaches one to be more efficient and conscientious when it comes to priorities.

Conversion X

Senior Web Developer and Designer

I was promoted as a team lead within five months of employment and all I can say is that it was a great and fulfilling post. Managing different personalities, making sure they're happy and checking off their tasks is a never-ending process of communication and collaboration among all team members. Fostering camaraderie, respect and transparency was just as important to me as completing day-to-day tasks.

GForce Global

Contractual Graphic and Web Designer

Working remotely and having control over my own time impacted my views on the typical 9-5 jobs out there. This post molded my ideal work setting and reinforced the importance of clear communication in any scenario.

Art Contributor

I received the opportunity to collaborate with a size-able team remotely. Creating artwork for articles is very enjoyable to me. I had a lot more leeway in terms of what I wanted the art to look like which I appreciated. I would love to try and illustrate books next.

Riverwalk Labs

Freelance UX and UI Designer

My short stay was a tremendous learning experience. It was my first exposure to scrum and first job title as a User Experience designer. This was a startup and a small team but I found that it's more efficient that way.

A tight-knit creative design studio near the beach or forest with a group of talented, collaborative, well-rounded and creative people that do projects with social responsibility in mind is my dream job apart from getting paid to eat delicious food.

My first foray into writing for an official web magazine/newspaper. I definitely got to understand more about the editing process that goes into each content before it gets published.

Full Suite, Inc.

Graphic Design Intern

This was where my I made my first website for a company. I worked directly with my supervisor and interacted a lot with my co-workers from different departments which gave me a glimpse on how a company that handles other company's legal, financial matters and staff is run.

Design Intern

Before co.lab I had no idea what co-working was. They opened my eyes to alternative office spaces, creative tech careers and startups. I got to talk and discuss with a lot of creatives from all ages and from all walks of life in different industries. One thing I can't forget was my trip to the Senate and a brunch with a Senator pushing for the importance of Design in the country.

Information and Communications Technology Academy

Bachelor of Science (B.S.), Digital Design

I always knew I would do something in the creative field. And with my first love being art, choosing a design course was natural for me. Instead of going to more traditional schools and learning traditional art, its history etc. I chose an IT school. I understood the significance of technology and importance of the digital world. During my stay I was exposed to the growing tech industry, the business of it and my role in it. One thing I can't forget is that networking can make way for a lot of opportunities. All you have to do is be present.
