Raised funds to support struggling entrepreneurs from Vancouver's Downtown Eastside. Mentored and assisted an entrepreneur in the early stages of her business. Represented SIFE BCIT at local, regional and national competitions.
Represented current students and the Student Association executive as a voting member of the board. Collaborated and worked with the BCIT Alumni to further their strategic goals and to strengthen relations between the Alumni and the Student Association.
An elected representative for 48,000 students from five campuses and a five million dollar operating budget. Executed successful and fun campus-wide fundraising events to increase student involvement and buy-in. Raised over $20,000 for BCIT and external charities. Re-developed the position to better meet the needs of the organization.
Teach Away, headquartered in Toronto - Canada, was established in 2003 to help North American teachers find employment overseas. Since its inception, Teach Away has grown into one of the largest and most diverse teacher recruitment agencies in the world.
Teach Away's partners include a wide range of educational institutions including: Elementary, Middle and High Schools; International Schools; Public Schools; Businesses requiring English Language Instructors; Summer Camps; Adult Learning Centres; and Private English Schools.
Each year, Teach Away places hundreds of teachers in countries around the world including Mexico, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Hong Kong, Japan, China, Thailand, Vietnam, Taiwan, and Korea.
Assisted a senior project manager in all aspects of project execution. This included: following up on deliverables, tracking completion of milestones and creating project reports. Interfaced with project teams to verify task completion and coordinated with engineering teams and construction management. Created process documents to be standardized for future project management use. Selected to be a trainer for new system implementation.
Assisted in new market entry strategy. Completed a new market research report and a marketing plan with a detailed customer persona. Re-hired to study additional markets after the work for the first market was competed. Upon re-hire work also included: blog author, social media coordination, strategy assistance for website/social media content.
