Responsible for strategic and business operations of the newspaper and its new media products. Joined the newspaper in 1999 as the first group of reporters. Worked as a business reporter, then a features and news editor before leading and managing business operation team.
Started the newspaper's first in-house circulation/advertising/marketing team from scratch from late 2009. The business operations team now has 30+ members. Plan and execute business operations budget.
Pitch and maintain key advertising clients. Major advertisers in tourism, hotels, auto, property, dining and other multinational companies. Initiated industry supplements for key advertisers.
Oversee collaborations with governments about supplements, English websites and mobile products, international cultural and economic events, and city image promotion projects in Shanghai, Hangzhou, Suzhou, Chengdu, etc.
Develop and maintain circulation and distribution network for newspapers and special editions including hotels, airports, retail, news stands and corporate and individual subscription. Explore promotion channels and content partnership for new media products.
Plan and execute marketing and branding strategy for major brand Shanghai Daily and sub-brand iDEALShanghai. Initiate, plan and organize key events for partners, readers and users, and a wide range of target audience.
Lead business operation team to explore new businesses especially new media products.
